So Much with Dilnet…
Never say goodbye, say farewell.
The very first task i was given right after i was inducted into office was to manage the Dilnet Helpdesk. There and then i was tagged as the Dilnet Mommy. I felt too young for the title, knowing that these kids i am supposed to handle are just about my peers, 1 to 2 years younger, some even older.
That was three years ago. Well times have changed. I can now bully them around! Harharhar!
(*Oh i wish that’s true.* It does look like the other way around to be honest. The Dilnet that I know are these spoiled kids who love to hang out at 304 after 5pm, order pizzas when delayed salaries come, and goof around in that small room, making fun of the tech experiences they each had. Wait, that kind of resemble our batch when we’re the Dilnet Tech guys. Tsk tsk, usual Dilnet culture, doesn’t change. They see me more as a friend than a boss, but that’s fine with me.)
On the good side, tech is of course the SAs second love, next to acads. They would battle the storms, track the streets on a blazing sun, and walk a mile (pag walang fx) just to get to the clients. Service (esp. if with food) is their #1 priority.
Sadly, Dilnet is something i have to give up now. Among all tasks that i’m currently handling, it may be the dearest to me, and well the greatest test of patience. I heart dilnet! *winks* But i just have to unload the weight. So much with Dilnet, I’ve had enough.
To the SAs, good luck on the dirty job, tracing data cables, solving the oddest tech cases (i.e. power problem? baka naka-unplug lang!) You’ll miss me for sure. :p (That’s not a threat, just a warning! Hehe!)
